Don’t let me or my writings influence or scare you in any way, instead, allow me to be used as a vessel to open the Word, just a little bit, and hopefully, together we are going to read and study His Word, and let God teach us what He wants us to hear.
Since the beginning of this study, our vision has been that we are ONLY going to follow what is found in the Holy Bible, that pertains to us, and we realize that it’s ONLY from our own effort that we put into this study, that we’re going to take anything away for our own use.
The verses we are going to study tonight:
Genesis 22:14; 1 Samuel 2:3; Job 12:13; Galatians 6:7-10; Matthew 7:15-16; 2 Timothy 3:16-17; Jonah 1:1-3; Galatians 5:22-26, 6:6-10.
Maybe the first realization here MUST be made is that there never has been, nor will there ever be any surprises that were unknown to God. God knew what used to be, what is now and what is going to happen in the future; past, present and future tense.
The word omniscient comes from the Latin words ‘omnis,’ meaning ALL, and ‘scientia,’ meaning KNOWLEDGE. The Christian faith teaches that God’s all-knowing power is beyond human imagination.
This phrase, ‘The God Who Sees Me,’ is translated as El Roi in Hebrew. El Roi is the God who numbers the hairs on our heads and counts our every tear. He knows every detail of our circumstances. When we pray to El Roi, we are praying to the God who knows everything about us.
Genesis 22:14 ‘…And Abraam called the name of that place, The Lord hath seen; that they might say to-day, In the mount the Lord it was seen…’ Brenton Septuagint Translation
1 Samuel 2:3 ‘…Talk no more so exceeding proudly; let not arrogancy come out of your mouth: for the Lord is a God of knowledge, and by him actions are weighed…’ KJV (King James Version)
Job 12:13 ‘…With him is wisdom and strength, he hath counsel and understanding…’ KJV (King James Version)
God, the Omniscient God, the ALL-KNOWING God, is where I place my FAITH and my TRUST in Him. I Believe that my God would never allow for me or any one of us human beings in the 21st century to be lied to by an earlier generation.
Especially if it was a falsehood from way back in the Old Testament.
God would not allow His Word to be copied and made null and void without us, His people first knowing that we have been lied to and what is before us today is false, inaccurate and unable to be finished by us.
This God from Genesis 1:1 is the same God we find today in the 21st century … mankind is different, today, we’re probably smarter than we were back in 5000 B.C., but the same exact God that existed back in 5000 B.C. remains ALL KNOWING today in the 21st century as He was back then.
This God would have known, every single time there was a deceitful, devious, deception done, on mankind and against ours and His wants and desires.
This Holy and ALL-KNOWING God would never have been able to sit back and allow for us, His people in the 21st century, to have been lied to and today living our lives on a lie from centuries earlier.
Now today, we have technology available to us at our fingertips. With a sweep of the mouse, we can pull information available to us and this can only have been made possible by God Himself.
Many believe this is part of the reason why the end is coming so quickly because of how much more advanced technology has become in just the last fifty years.
Times have changed since that day of Creation, in fact, time has changed in just the last twenty years. God’s Word has remained the same, but the same thing to our manmade churches.
Churches today are changing their own innermost core values, making it possible for new members to join their church as old rules and regulations are being made new.
The apostle Paul wrote warnings to the churches of his day. He forewarned those churches not to be deceived by false teachers and false doctrines.
Galatians 6
vs7 ‘…Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a person sows, this he will also reap…’
vs8 ‘…For the one who sows to his own flesh will reap destruction from the flesh, but the one who sows to the Spirit will reap eternal life from the Spirit…’
vs9 ‘…Let’s not become discouraged in doing good, for in due time we will reap, if we do not become weary…’
vs10 ‘…So then, while we have opportunity, let’s do good to all people, and especially to those who are of the household of the faith…’ NASB (New American Standard Bible)
Vs7a from the in the NLT ‘…Don’t be misled…’ (New Living Translation)
Do you remember the television show, ‘Lost in Space’ and the robot (B9) …
‘WARNING! WARNING! DANGER! DANGER!’
Do you truly think God, our Father in heaven, would allow His children, through generation after generation, to be taught something false before He would have stepped in and corrected His message?
There is the warning we were given by Matthew.
Matthew 7
vs15 ‘…Beware of the false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly are ravenous wolves…’
vs16 ‘…You will know them by their fruits. Grapes are not gathered from thorn bushes, nor figs from thistles, are they…’ NASB (New American Standard Bible)
We have been given warnings about future teachers that may be spreading Contradicting Scripture: They may add to the Word, remove parts from that same Word, or reinterpret Scripture, or deny it altogether.
We are taught in 2 Timothy that ALL Scripture has been inspired by God.
2 Timothy 3
vs16 ‘…All Scripture is inspired by God and beneficial for teaching, for rebuke, for correction, for training in righteousness…’
vs17 ‘…so that the man or woman of God may be fully capable, equipped for every good work…’ NASB (New American Standard Bible)
All Scripture is Inspired by God, but NOT all Scripture has been meant for us to follow.
My easiest example of this is taken from Jonah 1. Jonah was told by God, to go to Nineveh and tell them their wickedness was known by Him, but instead of Jonah doing what God wanted him to do, he fled and boarded a boat on its way to Spain where he sailed, trying to flee from God’s presence.
Jonah 1
vs1 ‘…The word of the Lord came to Jonah the son of Amittai, saying…’
vs2 ‘…Arise, go to Nineveh, the great city, and cry out against it, because their wickedness has come up before Me…’
vs3 ‘…But Jonah got up to flee to Tarshish from the presence of the Lord. So he went down to Joppa, found a ship that was going to Tarshish, paid the fare, and boarded it to go with them to Tarshish away from the presence of the Lord…’ NASB (New American Standard Bible)
There is no way this Scripture in Jonah has been meant for us to follow. The Old Testament is full of Scripture warning us what mankind did against God. There was Scripture written for us to see as a warning, it was never meant for us to FOLLOW.
Galatian 5
vs22 ‘…But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness…’
vs23 ‘…gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law…’
vs24 ‘…Now those who belong to Christ Jesus crucified the flesh with its passions and desires…’
vs25 ‘…If we live by the Spirit, let’s follow the Spirit as well…’
vs26 ‘…Let’s not become boastful, challenging one another, envying one another…’ NASB (New American Standard Bible)
The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness and temperance. There is no law against the fruit of the Spirit. Those who live and walk in the Spirit are heaven bound.
We as an individual, we must weigh what is being taught from Scripture and what isn’t taught from Scripture. Individually we are to be aware of what is going on around us. We have never been told to bury our heads in the sand and only listen to someone else read the Word to you. Open you Bibles yourselves and search the Word and see if you’re being taught what God wants you to learn.
I was reading an article, and it began: Paul forewarned the church not to be deceived by false teachers and false doctrines.
People, we are that CHURCH that the apostle Paul was writing too. He wasn’t writing to a building with four walls, a floor, roof with a steeple and a bell. He was writing to you and me ALERTING us to be on our guard.
Galatians 6
vs6 ‘…The one who is taught the word is to share all good things with the one who teaches him…’
vs7 ‘…Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a person sows, this he will also reap…’
vs8 ‘…For the one who sows to his own flesh will reap destruction from the flesh, but the one who sows to the Spirit will reap eternal life from the Spirit…’
vs9 ‘…Let’s not become discouraged in doing good, for in due time we will reap, if we do not become weary…’
vs10 ‘…So then, while we have opportunity, let’s do good to all people, and especially to those who are of the household of the faith…’ NASB (New American Standard Bible)
Finally, let us, the churches of Christ in the 21st century, take heed to the apostle Paul’s warnings and stand guard against false brethren and false doctrines. Let’s step away from these man-made churches we find today that are more interested in their wallet size rather than that day when we hear the shout to come and join Jesus in the clouds so we can remain with Him forever.
Our churches have changed. The message most churches teach have changed also. God’s Word that He has given to us has remained the same. His Word is where we will find the truth. We must open His Word and read what He wants for us to do.
Keep your Bibles always open and study His Word.
Don’t be afraid if you happen to disagree with what you hear spoken on a Sunday morning if you’re unable to find that message in your own Bible.
Rather than us preaching from our hearts and portraying messages that might make a person feel good, let’s only teach from God’s written Word.
Jesus, I pray that those ears and eyes, either listening or seeing this message today would be opened to the very fullest and allow Your love to come inside their lives and comfort them. Teach us Jesus. Protect us. We love You. Amen InHIM. ><)))o>
