Acts 9:15 ‘…But the Lord said unto him, Go thy way: for he is a chosen vessel unto me, to bear my name before the Gentiles, and kings, and the children of Israel…’ AKJV
Jesus, I know I am sounding like a recorded message, constantly week after week speaking of the same Message, over and over again, but I desire to get people on this earth facing towards You. Spread Your Message this morning and allow people all over this world to HEAR what You desire for us ALL to know. I love You Jesus. Thank You for everything I have been given in my lifetime. Amen.
The Bible verses we’re going to use this morning are:
Colossians 2:6, :8; 2Timothy 4:3-4.
You have heard me many times speak about how we are to FOLLOW in Jesus’ footsteps, allow me to share this next verse with you in several different English versions:
Colossians 2:6
‘…As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him…’ AKJV
‘…You have accepted Christ Jesus as your Lord. Now keep on following him…’ CEV
‘…Therefore, as you received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in him…’ ESV
‘…Therefore, as you have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him…’ NASB
‘…And now, just as you accepted Christ Jesus as your Lord, you must continue to follow him…’ NLT
It isn’t written that we are to find a church with a daycare for our kids … or to find a church with multiple services every Sunday … or a church with good free coffee and donuts … or find a building with a fantastic air conditioner and a pastor that can preach his message.
God in His Word is telling us to FOLLOW in Jesus’ footsteps.
Listen, Jesus died on the cross to forgive us of our sins, ALL mankind has had ALL of his sins forgiven.
ALL OF US.
This is from the result of Jesus dying on the cross for us … we are NEVER told to study His teaching from His earthly ministry … this is ALL false teachings by false prophets looking for their own reward … they are not interested in SAVING your soul for the future.
They are only interested in preaching the words they want to preach … they are only interested in how much money you put in their offering basket … they are only interested in what you are going to give them.
Finish reading the verses in Colossians 2 and listen to the warning that God is trying to express to us.
Colossians 2:8
‘…Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ…’ AKJV
‘…Don’t let anyone fool you by using senseless arguments. These arguments may sound wise, but they are only human teachings. They come from the powers of this world and not from Christ…’ CEV
‘…See to it that no one takes you captive by philosophy and empty deceit, according to human tradition, according to the elemental spirits of the world, and not according to Christ…’ ESV
‘…See to it that there is no one who takes you captive through philosophy and empty deception in accordance with human tradition, in accordance with the elementary principles of the world, rather than in accordance with Christ…’ NASB
‘…Don’t let anyone capture you with empty philosophies and high-sounding nonsense that come from human thinking and from the spiritual powers of this world, rather than from Christ…’ NLT
Don’t be misled by what a religion wants you to believe in … OPEN up your Bible and READ the words from God for yourself … READ His Word and FOLLOW in His footsteps.
God is SPEAKING to us today in His Word.
FOLLOW HIM.
Found also in God’s Word, He is telling us of how ‘future generations’ would desire to want their ears tickled or itching ears.
2Timothy 4
vs3 ‘…For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears…’
vs4 ‘…and they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables…’ AKJV
vs3 ‘…The time is coming when people won’t listen to good teaching. Instead, they will look for teachers who will please them by telling them only what they are itching to hear…’
vs4 ‘…They will turn from the truth and eagerly listen to senseless stories…’ CEV
vs3 ‘…For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions…’
vs4 ‘…and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander off into myths…’ ESV
vs3 ‘…For the time will come when they will not tolerate sound doctrine; but wanting to have their ears tickled, they will accumulate for themselves teachers in accordance with their own desires…’

vs3 ‘…For a time is coming when people will no longer listen to sound and wholesome teaching. They will follow their own desires and will look for teachers who will tell them whatever their itching ears want to hear…’

There is nowhere in the Word of God where it is written telling us Gentiles that we are to take the place of the Jew from the days of old.
This concept that began back in the 3rd century, it is called ‘Replacement Theology.’ This is nothing more than a man-made lie, a FALSE TEACHING that wants to do nothing but take your eyes off Jesus Christ and put your focus on what man wants you to know. This theology is nothing but a thought from Satan passed on by his workers of evil.

Replacement theology, or supersessionism, is the belief that the Christian Church has permanently replaced Israel as God’s chosen people, inheriting God’s promises and covenants. This view suggests that Israel, by rejecting Jesus, forfeited its special status and that the Church is now the true inheritor of God’s covenant promises to Abraham. While some theologians prefer the term ‘fulfillment theology’ or ‘fulfillment of Israel,’ replacement theology has been historically dominant but faces criticism for its historical role in anti-Semitic attitudes and its implications for the modern state of Israel.
I read once where this theology completely ends Israel, but that cannot be true because the entire book of Revelation is nothing but the final week (7 years) of punishment for the Jewish people, God’s Chosen people.
This is a short lesson this morning, but what I want to have my readers see more than anything is that our Bibles, the Word of God is an entire book telling us this world’s past history and it shows our future and what is going to happen to so many of us.
Do yourself a very big favor, take the time to OPEN your Bible and READ the words that God has given us.
God didn’t give us His Word for us to just carry it around in our everyday lives … He wants for us to READ it.
Begin in the book of Acts and continue in Jesus’ footsteps after the cross.
