101326 – (101426 – 1 Timothy)

I am going on a short visit to spend time with my mother. Tomorrow’s lesson I am going to post today, and next Wednesday’s lesson will probably be a few days late. We will be back on schedule in 2 weeks.

Love y’all. ><)))o>

Here is an overview given on google.com regarding the book of 1 Timothy.

The main message of 1 Timothy is that the true Gospel must result in practical, Christ-centered Godliness. Written by the apostle Paul to the young pastor Timothy, the letter serves as a leadership manual on how the church should operate, emphasizing the importance of sound doctrine and protecting the congregation from false teachers.

Today, the vast majority of man-made religions have flooded millions of individuals, just here in the United States of America alone, with FALSE teachings from FALSE teachers.

My grandson visits a man-made religion where they tell the kids to memorize Bible verses so they can earn a Bible.

Cool right?

But one of the verses he had to memorize was John 3:16.

John 3:16 was a verse written to and for the Jewish believer in Jesus’ day when He walked this earth during His earthly ministry, before He was crucified.

It’s a beautiful verse, but it will not do anything for a Gentile believer in the 21st century.

John 3:16 ‘…For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life…’ AKJV (Authorized King James Version)

Not one mention of Jesus’ death, burial and resurrection.

Matthew, Mark, Luke and John (MMLJ) couldn’t write about it because they didn’t understand it, the meaning was hidden from them.

Luke 18

vs31 ‘…Then he took unto him the twelve, and said unto them, Behold, we go up to Jerusalem, and all things that are written by the prophets concerning the Son of man shall be accomplished…’

vs32 ‘…For he shall be delivered unto the Gentiles, and shall be mocked, and spitefully entreated, and spitted on…’

vs33 ‘…and they shall scourge him, and put him to death: and the third day he shall rise again…’

vs34 ‘…And they understood none of these things: and this saying was hid from them, neither knew they the things which were spoken…’ AKJV (Authorized King James Version)

The twelve couldn’t write about Jesus’ death, burial and resurrection, because it was hidden from them.

The twelve (eleven), didn’t understand until after Jesus had been resurrected from His tomb.

John 20

vs3 ‘…Then Peter and the other disciple went to the tomb…’

vs4 ‘…The two of them were running, but the other disciple ran faster than Peter and reached the tomb first…’

vs5 ‘…He bent over and saw the linen cloths, but he did not go in…’

vs6 ‘…Behind him came Simon Peter, and he went straight into the tomb. He saw the linen cloths lying there…’

vs7 ‘…and the cloth which had been around Jesus’ head. It was not lying with the linen cloths but was rolled up by itself…’

vs8 ‘…Then the other disciple, who had reached the tomb first, also went in; he saw and believed…’

vs9 ‘…They still did not understand the scripture which said that he must rise from death…’

vs10 ‘…Then the disciples went back home…’ GNT (Good News Translation)

It’s foolishness, false teachings by false teachers to teach that the four (4) synoptic gospels are for us to follow today in the 21st century, MMLJ couldn’t teach us about Jesus death, burial and resurrection because they didn’t know; it was hidden from them.

1 Timothy 1:5 ‘…We need to teach people to love one another with pure thoughts. They need to be sure in their minds that they are living in a good way. They need to trust God completely…’ EASY (Easy English Bible)

The MOST important thing that we can remember is that we TRUST what God has told us.

Too often today, people are taught to believe in what is preached to them on Sunday mornings, but that is only true if the pastors and priests are preaching the words that God wants for us to know.

1 Timothy 2

vs5 ‘…There is only one God. There is also only one person who brings God and people together. That person is Christ Jesus, who became a man himself…’

vs6 ‘…He died as a sacrifice on behalf of all people, to pay the debt of their sins. He died at the proper time for God to show his purpose clearly…’ EASY (Easy English Bible)

Jesus died for our sins.

MMLJ were written of Jesus’ earthly ministry, He hadn’t died yet, sins were not yet forgiven.

Paul’s main message to Timothy is to keep your eyes looking towards Jesus. Allow Him to make you strong.

This conglomeration of man-made religions today, would all fail because the religions of today all look to please their congregation.

Today’s churches all want great AC for in the summer and heat for in the winter time. Free coffee and doughnuts are almost a must in the major cities. Free daycare so the kids can be watched over while the parents sit through the weekly sermon. And of course, Bible study, except today most churches teach Bible study of what they want their congregation to hear instead of teaching their congregation what God has told us through His Word.

1 Timothy 4:16 ‘…Think carefully about how you live, and about the message that you teach. Continue to teach God’s true message. Then God will save not only you, but also those people who listen to you…’ EASY (Easy English Bible)

I have been trying so hard to not get into 2 Timothy in this lesson, but I am unable.

2 Timothy 4

vs3 ‘…for the time will come when they will not tolerate sound doctrine; but wanting to have their ears tickled, they will accumulate for themselves teachers in accordance with their own desires…’

vs4 ‘…and they will turn their ears away from the truth and will turn aside to myths…’ NASB (New American Standard Bible)

So many times, in the Word, there are words that are perfectly used in the best and easiest way.

A good example is the word: MYTH.

Have you ever looked at the definition for the word?

Check this out:

MYTH definition:

1.a traditional story, especially one concerning the early history of a people or explaining some natural or social phenomenon, and typically involving supernatural beings or events.

2. a widely held but false belief or idea.

People are turning their ears away from the truth and they are believing in false beliefs and ideas.

Back in the 2nd century, there was a false belief of ‘replacement theology’ that began being taught in the man-made religions throughout the world.

Basically, it was taught that Christians were to take the place of the Jews living in Jesus’ day.

This concept is nowhere found in the Word of God, but it is what is taught in the majority of religions, throughout the world.

Here is an explanation of replacement theology found on google.com.

Replacement theology, also known as supersessionism, is the Christian doctrine that the Church has replaced or superseded Israel as God’s chosen people. It suggests that because many Jewish people rejected Jesus, God transferred His covenants, promises, and chosen status from national Israel to the Christian Church.

Nowhere is this found in the Word of God.

In fact, because of the Jews rejecting Jesus, God made a change and we are shown this verse from the Bible.

Romans 11:11 ‘…So now I ask this: when Israel’s people failed to accept Jesus as God’s Messiah, did they make themselves separate from God forever? No, certainly that is not true! Because of their mistake, God is now saving Gentiles. God is doing that so that Israel’s people would become jealous…’ EASY (Easy English Bible)

God tells us in His Word that He is simply trying to make the Jews jealous.

Tickling ears.

Preaching what people want to hear so there is money thrown in their offering basket … it’s the only thing that matters to man-made religions today.

But there is the day coming when God will set things straight.

Study the Word … OPEN YOUR BIBLE AND READ THE WORD FOR YOURSELF.

1 Timothy 4

vs15 ‘…Be careful to do all these things well. Then everyone will see that you are serving God better and better…’

vs16 ‘…Think carefully about how you live, and about the message that you teach. Continue to teach God’s true message. Then God will save not only you, but also those people who listen to you…’ EASY (Easy English Bible)

Back in the book of Ephesians 6 God gives us His armor to protect us from the hardships found in this world.

Ephesians 6:17 ‘…And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God…’ AKJV (Authorized King James Version)

God has given us His Word to protect us from this world.

Of all the pieces of armor, the SWORD is the only piece that can be used offensively as well as defensively.

The more we know what has been written in the Word, the stronger we will be if someone were to lie to us with a false message.

Paul’s final words in 1 Timothy defines the millions of people that have left God behind, but it is because of the false teachings in a man-made religion, spewing lies and not wanting anything other than more money.

People leave these man-made churches, thinking they have been mis-led by God, and God has had nothing to do with any of this, it has all been the man-made religion and its greed to get more.

1 Timothy 6:21 ‘…Some people have believed those wrong ideas and now they no longer trust God. I pray that God will continue to be very kind to all of you…’ EASY (Easy English Bible)

Now next week, we will study 2 Timothy and to me, it is one of the stronger books written by Paul.

That is the reason I didn’t want to quote from it until I got on the subject of false teachers.

I hope and pray that you join me as we continue to search in Jesus’ FOOTSTEPS.

I want to invite you to follow me in my pursuit of Him.

I love ALL of y’all.

I am InHIM.><)))o>

Here is a reading plan I’d like to suggest for the one searching to find God in the 21st century:

Day 1              –      Galatians 1-6, 1Thessalonians 1-5

Day 2              –      2Thessalonians 1-3, 1Corinthians 1-8

Day 3              –      1Corinthians 9-16

Day 4              –      2Corinthians 1-13

Day 5              –      Romans 1-10

Day 6              –      Romans 11-16, Philippians 1-4

Day 7              –      Colossians 1-4, Ephesians 1-6

Day 8              –      Philemon 1, 1 Timothy 1-6, Titus 1-3, 2Timothy 1-4

Day 9              –      Acts 1-7

Day 10            –      Acts 8-13

Day 11            –      Acts 14-20

Day 12            –      Acts 21-28

The entire Bible, ALL SCRIPTURE has been given to us by God (2TIM3:16), but NOT ALL Scripture has been meant for us ALL to follow … we are told we MUST know how to RIGHTLY DIVIDE the truth of God (2TIM2:15).
